Real Value Score Methodology
A transparent, data-driven formula — three fixed models, no hidden criteria, no paid rankings.
What the Real Value Score actually measures
Every bonus listed on 365BettingTips carries a Real Value Score from 0 to 100. It is not a marketing rating — it is calculated directly from the bonus's own terms, the same way for every bookmaker.
Bookmakers advertise bonuses by their headline amount — “100% up to $200”, “$50 free bet”, “10% cashback”. That number alone tells you almost nothing about how easy the offer actually is to turn into withdrawable money.
Two bonuses can carry an identical headline and still be worlds apart in real value — one clearable in a few normal bets within a month, the other requiring a punishing rollover on restricted markets within days. The Real Value Score exists to make that difference visible, using the same fixed formula for every bookmaker on the site.
Bookmaker A — “100% up to $200”
1x wagering · 30 days to clear · any market
Scores in the Excellent range
Bookmaker B — “100% up to $200”
10x wagering · 3 days to clear · accumulators only
Scores in the Below average range
Fixed formula
Three weights, set in advance and applied identically to every bookmaker — no offer is scored differently because of a commercial relationship.
Built from the terms
Every input — deposit, bonus amount, wagering multiplier, validity, minimum odds, cashback rate — comes from the bonus’s own published terms, cited by source.
Recalculated on change
When a bookmaker changes its terms, the score is recomputed from the new numbers — it does not stay pinned to an outdated offer.
Three bonus types, three weighted formulas
A free bet, a deposit-match bonus and a cashback offer are fundamentally different products, so each is scored by the formula that reflects what actually drives its value. Every component is scored 0–10 internally, multiplied by its weight, then summed and shown to you as a percentage out of 100.
Free Bets & No-Deposit Offers
Applies to: Free bet and no-deposit bonus offers
Ratio of the free bet size to the minimum deposit. Higher is better value.
How easy it is to meet the wagering requirements: number of bets and the allowed odds range.
How long the bonus lasts and how much time you have to complete wagering. Longer is easier to clear.
How low the minimum deposit threshold is to claim the bonus.
Absolute size of the free bet in EUR-equivalent.
How strict the minimum-odds restrictions on qualifying bets are. Takes the strictest requirement across all stages.
Formula A
Score = 0.50×BonusLeverage + 0.15×WageringEase + 0.15×ValidityPeriod + 0.10×EntryAccessibility + 0.05×RewardSize + 0.05×OddsRequirements
Deposit & Welcome Match Bonuses
Applies to: Deposit-match and welcome bonus offers
How easy it is to clear the wagering requirement: rollover multiplier, time allowance and odds requirements. The main driver of a deposit bonus's value.
Size of the deposit match multiplier (percentage). Higher percentage means more bonus funds.
How much time you are given to meet the wagering requirements. Longer is easier to clear.
How low the minimum deposit threshold is to claim the bonus.
Maximum bonus amount in EUR-equivalent.
Formula B
Score = 0.40×WageringEase + 0.25×BonusGenerosity + 0.15×ValidityPeriod + 0.10×EntryAccessibility + 0.10×RewardSize
Cashback, Loyalty, Insurance & Risk-Free Bets
Applies to: Cashback, loyalty programme, bet insurance and risk-free bet offers
Cashback percentage or winnings boost rate. The main driver of a cashback bonus's value.
How easy it is to clear the cashback. Many cashback offers are paid as real money with no wagering — that is maximum ease.
How much time you are given to use/wager the cashback.
How low the minimum deposit threshold is to claim the bonus.
Maximum cashback/boost amount in EUR-equivalent. No cap means no penalty.
Formula C
Score = 0.45×Cashback/BoostRate + 0.30×WageringEase + 0.10×ValidityPeriod + 0.10×EntryAccessibility + 0.05×PayoutCap
The factors that move the score
These are the raw terms that feed into every formula above. Understanding them makes it easy to read a bonus's terms yourself and predict roughly how it will score.
Wagering (rollover) requirement
The multiplier you must turn the bonus over in bets before winnings can be withdrawn. A "20x wagering" bonus of $50 means $1,000 in total stakes before cash-out. Lower multipliers, fewer required bets and wider allowed odds ranges all raise the Wagering Ease component.
Validity period
How long you have to claim and clear the offer. Multi-stage bonuses (free bet, then wager the winnings) count the combined time across every stage — not just the headline window — because that is the real time you are given.
Minimum qualifying odds
The lowest odds a bet must have to count toward wagering. Restrictive minimums (e.g. 2.50+) push bettors into riskier bets to clear the requirement; a low or absent minimum scores higher.
Minimum deposit / entry cost
What it costs to unlock the offer. A bonus that anyone can claim with a small deposit is more accessible than one gated behind a high minimum — this is scored independently of the bonus size itself.
Bonus leverage
Free bet size divided by the qualifying deposit. A $50 free bet requiring a $500 deposit (0.1x leverage) is poor value; the same $50 free bet at a $10 deposit (5x leverage) is excellent — the leverage component captures exactly this.
What a given score means
The same 0–100 scale and the same six labels are used across every bonus on the site, regardless of which formula produced the number.
Outstanding (85–100) · Excellent (70–84) · Good (55–69) · Average (40–54) · Below average (25–39) · Low value (0–24)
How we keep the score honest
A public, computed formula
Nothing above is an estimate or a house opinion. Every weight and every scoring band on this page is the exact formula the backend runs against a bonus’s stored terms — the same numbers you see in the “How We Scored This Bonus” panel on each offer.
Sourced, not guessed
Every input — deposit minimum, bonus size, wagering multiplier, validity window, minimum odds, cashback rate — is pulled from the bookmaker’s own published terms. We link the source on the bonus page rather than paraphrasing from memory.
No paid rankings
365BettingTips may earn an affiliate commission when you click through to a bookmaker. That relationship never touches the Real Value Score — a bookmaker cannot pay for a higher score, and the formula is applied identically regardless of any commercial arrangement.
Kept current
Bonus terms change without notice. When they do, the affected offer is re-scored from the updated terms rather than left showing a stale figure.
